To access the Review Projection Dates page, navigate to the Weekly Forecasting page, then click the Review Projection Dates button located above the forecast week.

Note: The Review Projection Dates button is disabled for imported forecasts.



Security


Users with access to view the Weekly Forecasting page will have access to view the Review Projection Dates page. Only users with the following permission can make changes: 


Sales & Cash → Forecasts → Weekly Forecasting Customize Projection Dates


This permission can be added to custom user roles or single users. Learn more about managing permissions and custom user roles here. Review Projection Dates Fields and Buttons





Field/ButtonDescription
New Projection Dates Available IndicatorIndicates that new projection dates have been polled after the forecast was generated. New projection dates are not automatically included.

Apply ChangesApplies changes made to the projection dates for all days of the week.

Note: This button is disabled if any day has changes that have not been calculated (#3).

Note: This button is disabled if all dates in the forecast week are in the past.
X ButtonCloses the Review Projection Dates page without applying changes. 
Day of the WeekEach day of the week for the week being forecasted, including weather and projected sales.

The day whose projection dates are listed is displayed in blue and underlined. Click the day of the week to change the day whose projection dates are being listed.

Note: The projected sales amount displayed here updates after changes to the projection dates are calculated. The projected sales amount displayed in the selected date details (#4) is always the current system-generated projected amount on the Weekly Forecast page.

Note: When there are no projected dates included for the associated day, the projected sales will be $0 and an info icon will be displayed.
Star IconIndicates that new projection dates have been polled for that day after the forecast was generated.

RecalculateRecalculates the sales projection for the displayed day after making changes.

When recalculated, the sales projection is calculated as an average of the sales from the dates in the 'Included' section.

Note: Selecting another day will automatically recalculate the sales projection for the displayed day.

Note: When the displayed day is recalculated, the 'Variance %' column in the selected day details (#4) will also be recalculated as the difference between the recalculated forecast projection and the current forecast projection.
Selected Day DetailsForecast details for the selected day of the week. See the 'Selected Date Row' section below for more information.
Show Removed Toggle
Shows or hides dates excluded from the sales projection calculations.
Add Date Button
Adds a custom date to the included dates.

Note: This button is disabled if the selected forecast date is in the past.

Note: Each forecast day can have up to 25 projection dates in the 'Included' and 'Removed' sections combined. Once this limit is reached, the Add Date button is disabled.
New SectionLists all projection dates that have been polled after the forecast was generated.

Note: This section is not displayed if there are no new dates associated with the day.
Add All ButtonIncludes all new projection dates.

Note: This button is disabled if the selected forecast date is in the past.
Add Button
Includes the associated projection date.

Note: This button is disabled if the selected forecast date is in the past.
Included SectionLists all projection dates included in the sales projection calculations. The section header displays a count of the included dates.
Remove All ButtonRemoves all included projection dates.

Note: This button is disabled if the selected forecast date is in the past.
Remove Projection Date ButtonRemoves the associated projection date.

Note: This button is disabled if the selected forecast date is in the past.
Manually Added Date Icon
Indicates that the associated date was manually added.
Removed SectionLists all dates that have been excluded from the sales projection calculations. The section header displays a count of the removed dates.

Note: Historical dates are automatically excluded when they have no sales associated with them.

Note: When the forecast week is generated, historical dates that were manually excluded from prior published forecasts are automatically excluded. 
Include Projection Date ButtonReturns the associated date to the 'Included' section.

Note: Dates with no sales cannot be included in sales projection calculations.

Note: This button is disabled if the selected forecast date is in the past.
Trashcan Button Deletes a manually added date from the 'Removed' section.

Note: This button is disabled if the selected forecast date is in the past.

Selected Date Row


Column TitleDescription
DateDate currently selected and displayed.
Day of the WeekDay of the week for the selected date.
Variance %Percentage difference between the calculated sales projection after adjustments to projection dates and the currently projected sales on the Weekly Forecasting page.

Note: The calculated sales projection is displayed under the day of the week in the header.
Projected SalesCurrent system-generated sales projection on the Weekly Forecasting page.

Note: This amount does not update as changes to projection dates are made, and is displayed as a reference only. 
WeatherWeather forecast for the selected date.
EventsNumber of events associated with the selected date.

Hover over to display a list of the events. Event details can be viewed by clicking the associated View Event button in the event list.


Note: Events are only displayed when the Scheduling module is enabled. 
Log EntriesNumber of log entries associated with the selected date.

Hover over to display the list of log entries. Log entry details can be viewed by clicking the associated View Log Entry button.



Projection Date Sections


The following columns are displayed for the New, Included, and Removed sections:


Column TitleDescription
Business DayDate of the projection day.

Note: Dates are sorted in descending order by the absolute value of their 'Variance %'. If dates have the same absolute variance %, the positive value is displayed first. For dates with the exact same variance %, the newest date is listed first. 
Week DayDay of the week of the projection day.
Variance %The variance between the actual sales from the associated historical date and the projected sales for the selected forecast date.

Calculated as: (actual sales from the historical date - projected sales for selected date) / projected sales.
SalesActual sales for that projection day.

Note: The selected forecast metric will determine if net sales or gross sales is displayed.

Note: The location's start of day time may impact the displayed sales for historical dates. Sales for historical dates are calculated as sales that occurred within the location's 24-hour business day. If the DSS for a historical day was imported prior to the start of day time being configured, the sales displayed in Weekly Forecasting may not match the sales displayed in the DSS. 
WeatherActual weather for that projection day.
EventsNumber of events associated with the projection date.

Hover over to display a list of the events. Event details can be viewed by clicking the associated 'View Event' button in the event list.


Note: Events are only displayed when the Scheduling module is enabled. 
Log EntriesNumber of log entries associated with the projection date.
