This article reviews the Forecasting Settings sidesheet for Weekly Forecasting. Here, users can adjust the configurations for Weekly Forecasting. 

The Forecasting Settings sidesheet is where all settings that apply to the Weekly Forecasting page for all locations are found. 

Currently, the Forecasting Settings sidesheet consists of the Configuration tab, containing the settings for projection models and forecast metrics.

Note: Weekly Forecasting will be enabled for all customer throughout 2024. Please contact your CSM to learn more about migrating to the new experience.

Security

The permissions listed here are associated with Weekly Forecasting settings. These permissions can be added to custom user roles or single users. Learn more about managing permissions and custom user roles here.

Permissions related to Weekly Forecasting settings are found in the permission tree as follows:

    • Forecast Settings
      • View Forecast Configurations
      • Create/Edit Forecast Configurations
        
        

The Permission Access Report can be used to determine which user roles or users already have these permissions assigned. Learn more about user setup and security here.

Navigation

Weekly Forecasting settings are accessed by clicking on the gear icon in the header of the Weekly Forecasting page.

Configurations Tab

The Configurations tab displays all forecast configuration groups for the instance. Each forecast configuration group contains the forecast metric and projection model settings for assigned locations. 

	Field	Description
	Search	Search for specific keywords.
	Filter	Filter column information. Learn more about working with smart grids here.
	Configuration Group	Each forecast configuration group contains the forecast metric and projection model settings for assigned locations. Click to view and/or edit the forecasting configurations.

Default Configuration Group

As locations are enabled for Weekly Forecasting, they will be automatically added to the 'Default Configuration' group. The 'Default Configuration' group cannot be deleted. 

When locations are assigned to other forecast configuration groups, they will be automatically removed from the 'Default Configuration' group.

Forecast Configuration Group Details

	Field	Description
	Configuration Name	The name of the forecast configuration group. Note: The default configuration group cannot be renamed.
	Locations	All locations that are assigned to the forecast configuration group.  Note: Locations cannot be assigned to or removed from the 'Default Configuration' group.
	Available Metrics Toggle	Indicates if the forecast metric is enabled as an option for generating the forecast. All enabled metrics will be available for use at the associated location(s). When a user manually selects a different forecast metric, the system will recalculate the week's forecast using the selected metric.
	Default Metric Radio Button	Indicates which forecast metric is the default; this will be the metric that the forecast is calculated and displayed in when initially generated.
	Available Models Toggle	Indicates if the projection model is enabled as an option for generating the forecast. The projection model determines how the system-generated sales projection will be calculated. All enabled projection models will be available for use at the associated location(s). When a user manually selects a different projection model, the system will recalculate the week's forecast using the selected model.
	Default Projection Model Radio Button	Indicates which projection model is the default; this will be the model used when the forecast for a week is first generated.
	Cancel/Save Configuration Buttons	Cancel - Click to close without saving changes Save Configuration - Click to save the forecast configuration group settings

Edit A Forecast Configuration Group

Follow these steps to change the configuration settings for a forecast configuration group:

	Navigate to the Forecast Settings sidesheet.
	Clicking on the desired forecast configuration group will open its 'Edit Forecast Configurations' window.
	Enable a minimum of one forecast metric.
	Select the desired default forecast metric. Note: If the default metric is disabled, the next enabled metric in the list will automatically be set as the default. If no other metrics are enabled, the default metric cannot be disabled.
	Enable a minimum of one projection model.
	Select the desired default projection model. Note: If the default model is disabled, the next enabled model in the list will automatically be set as the default. If no other models are enabled, the default model cannot be disabled.
	Click Save Configuration.
