The Admin page is where Overtime Rules, Break Rules, and the Labor Matrix can be updated to reflect the needs of your Organization. From this page, Users with the necessary security access can view and edit existing rules as well as the Labor Matrix, which is the foundation for the Labor configuration that assists in forecasting Labor. Users can easily navigate between these tabs and even create custom Table Views for the Overtime Rules and Break Rules listings.


Note: This is currently only available to Early Adopters.



Security


Users with the following Security Roles can view, create, edit, and delete Overtime and Break Rules:

  • Full Access (Primary)
  • Accounting Manager (Primary)
  • Accounting Clerk (Primary)
  • Forecasting Admin (Secondary)


Users with the following Primary Security Role can view Overtime and Break Rules:

  • Restaurant Manager


Users with the following Security Roles can view, create, edit, and delete information entered in the Labor Matrix:

  • Full Access (Primary)
  • Accounting Manager (Primary)
  • Forecasting Admin (Secondary)



Navigation



Begin with navigating to Smart Ops by clicking 'Smart Operations NEW!' in either the Operations or Scheduling module. This will load the Smart Ops home screen.

  • Note: Users with the 'Restaurant Manager' Primary Security Role will be automatically directed to the Smart Ops home screen upon logging into the system.



In the left navigation pane, click 'Admin' under 'Labor' to open the Admin page.



List Functions



1) Overtime Rules Tab - This tab lists details about each User-created Overtime Rule, which will be reflected on the Schedule Calendar and assist in Scheduling Employees. Click here to learn more about the Overtime Rules tab

2) Break Rules Tab - This tab lists details about each User-created Break Rule. Break Rules assist in updating Employee Total Labor Hours, which will be reduced by the total break minutes per day and/or per shift, on the Schedule Calendar. Click here to learn more about the Break Rules tab

3) Labor Matrix Tab - This tab hosts the Labor Matrix, which is used to detail the Jobs and the Labor hours needed per Job based on the Sales coming in. This will build the foundation of the Labor Forecast, ensuring for an accurate representation of the number of Employees need per hour. Click here to learn more about the Labor Matrix tab

4) Search Bar - This will filter the listing for the characters entered

5) + Create - This will enable the User to create one of the following:

6) Table Views - This enables the User to create and edit saved views of this list. Simply click this icon and then either 'Save Current View' to save the new view or 'Edit Table Views' to edit the selected saved view. All saved views are listed above these two action buttons



7) Filter - This allows the User to create a filter for the table. Click the filter icon to open the 'Filter Columns' modal. Once open, click '+ Add Filter' to select the Column and Filter Type and then enter the Value that should be filtered. Select the 'Apply' button to filter the table for the information entered or click the trash can icon to remove a filter



8) Columns - This lists all of the columns available to display. Check or uncheck a column name to include or exclude it, respectively, in the list. Columns can also be reorganized by dragging and dropping the desired column's rearrange iconwhere needed

  • Note: Columns will vary depending on the tab 

9) Excel - This will download the listed information into an Excel file

10) Refresh - This will refresh the listing



Overtime Rules Tab


User-created Overtime Rules help to enforce your Organization's and/or State's overtime criteria by applying these rules to each selected Location's Schedule Calendar. Click here to learn more about Overtime Rules.



Break Rules Tab


User-created Break Rules can be created to comply with your Organization's Policy and/or State's Labors for Employee breaks and are represented on the Schedule Calendar. Click here to learn more about Break Rules.



Labor Matrix Tab
