The Synergi integration within the Hire module can be used to calculate the Work Opportunity Tax Credit for your organization. This calculation uses the demographic data collected in the applications within Hire and compares it to payroll data from Workforce payroll. 


The WOTC Payroll Data (Synergi) report is used to send payroll data to Synergi. Payroll data should be sent to Synergi in accordance with your company’s payroll cycle (weekly, bi-weekly, etc.).



Download the WOTC Payroll Data (Synergi) Report


Follow these steps to download the WOTC Payroll Data (Synergi) report in the correct format:


  1. Navigate to the Workforce tab of My Reports.

  2. Locate the WOTC Payroll Date (Synergi) report, then click Customize.


  3. Select the date range for the desired pay period.

  4. Click Run.


  5. Click the custom export button. 

  6. Select Excel.

  7. Click Export.



Rename the WOTC Payroll Data (Synergi) Report


Review the downloaded report and rename it with the following format:


File Naming Convention:    [CLIENT NAME]_[CLIENT ID]_[PAY PERIOD END DATE]

Example:            100XXXX_TestCompanyLLC_05.24.2024




Submit the WOTC Payroll Data (Synergi) Report to Synergi


Follow these steps to submit the downloaded report to Synergi:


  1. Navigate to the Synergi portal and log in.


  2. Click the Add Files button, then select the payroll file to upload.
  3. Click the Start Upload button.


A upload confirmation will be displayed once the file has been successfully uploaded.
