Below is the list of most recently added features:

  • Bank Activity Updates - these updates should drastically improve speed for those who use this screen to create new withdrawals and deposits
    • Unmatched tab updated for much greater speed of entry - columns added to the list view where user can assign vendor, account, location and add the transactions in mass from the list instead of opening a separate screen
    • Bank Rules feature added - the first time a transaction is added from the list, the system can create a bank rule so that any future transactions with the same or similar name (i.e. chevron, starbucks, etc) can be automatically classified to the same vendor and account as the first one
    • When creating a withdrawal from bank activity, once a vendor is selected that vendor's default expense account will default into the account field

  • Forecasting - allows users to forecast sales by period for every day in that period.  Smart Forecast option will have system predict sales for upcoming period based on recent trends vs prior year
  • Employee and Labor Updates
    • Master Employee - new master employee record allows you to store data about the employee in one central place and if the employee works at multiple locations and thus has multiple POS employee records, you can link each of these records to the master employee record for that person.  Click here for employee setup training
    • Labor Break and Split violation tracking - this allows you to setup break and split shift violation rules for each location and review those violations on the DSS as well as in new reports (listed in reports section of this page).  Click here for break and split violation training
  • Theme Builder - this allows users with the User Setup security role to set the color scheme for their organization.  The system will come with the default theme as well as various other themes, but users can also create their own themes with colors that fit their organization best.  Setting this will apply to all users in that organization.
  • Comparable Stores - this allows you to specify what date range each location should be included in the comp store group so that reports can be filtered by this grouping.  It also included a new P&L format (listed in reports section of this page).  Click here for comparable stores training
  • To Do Checklist Updates - displays records in the system that require attention such as records missing required fields or beginning balances that need to be reviewed
  • Data Import and Export
    • ACH export file improved for banks that don't handle text qualifiers
    • ACH export Wells Fargo specific format added
    • McLane vendor invoice import format added
    • US Foods vendor invoice import updated to better account for tax
  • Franchisee Billing Update - Billing process updated so you can choose to create 1 invoice per franchisee or 1 invoice per franchisee location
  • Daily Sales Summary Form Updates
    • Employee note reason category dropdown added - on the labor tab a new dropdown was added so can create categories for employee notes such as Late, No Show, etc to help categorize notes made for employees on specific days.  These categories can be reported on in Business Analytics and can help in employee reviews
    • Labor tab now shows break violations and split shift premiums
  • Mobile App Updates (will be available in the app on November 30th) 
    • Daily Sales report - same report described in reports section on this page is available in the mobile app as well 
    • Stock count quantity entry updated to include calculator functionality
    • Formatting updated to make it easier to navigate between rows and see longer item names on each row
  • Bank Rec Updates - Multi-column sorting now available and bank account dropdown widened to see more of the account name.  Click here for bank rec training
  • Transaction Updates 
    • AP transactions update so users can't accidentally enter a negative total for an invoice (this would be a credit memo).  This was occasionally happening and causing issue on check runs
    • Stock count update so u of m pulls from inventory unit of measure field on item and restaurant managers can't change it by accident on the count
    • Attachment delete warning - now deleting an attachment will warn the user in case it was pressed on accident
  • Fiscal Year Auto Creation - fiscal years will be automatically created by the system 90 days before the start of the new year.  You still have ability to edit any year as desired
  • Business Analytics Enhancements
    • Ad Hoc reports page - A new page was created to access ad hoc reports so you don't have to go to the Dashboards page in order to access other reports.  Click here for ad hoc reports training
    • Navigation updated to make it more intuitive of where to find different reports and how to create new reports
    • New data domains added for Franchisee Sales, Transaction Summary, and the Sales Detail data updated to include the Menu Item field on reports

  • Reports
    • Bank to GL Reconciliation report - this can be run for one bank account at a time and displays any discrepancies between bank balance according to the bank reconciliation and the account balance according to the general ledger.  Click here for bank balance vs GL balance training
    • Break & Split Shift Violation report - this displays a summary of break and split shift violations across locations
    • Contract Violation report - this displays a list of vendor invoice items in violation of the contract price across a date range.  Upon request, this report can be scheduled to email on a schedule such as weekly
    • Daily Sales report - this gives a summary across multiple locations for many different daily sales and labor numbers.  Upon request, this report can be scheduled to email out nightly
    • Labor Detail report - this displays all labor details for each employee including break and split shift violations
    • Location Comparison report updated - this report now also shows date for day instead of just week/period/qtr/year and can also report on Entrees Per Labor Hour
    • P&L Formats Added
      • Week & YTD - this shows a column for the week total and a separate column for YTD column
      • Trailing 12 Weeks - this shows a separate column for each of the last 12 weeks and a total at the end
      • Comp store format - this shows a column for all comp stores combined vs prior year and a variance, then the same for non-comp stores, then the same for all stores combined
    • Purchases by Vendor report - this displays each invoice with a sub-total by vendor for a user defined date range.  It can also be filtered to only show use tax vendors
    • Weekly Review Location report updated - average check numbers now show 2 decimal places (were previously rounded to whole numbers) 
    • My Reports page updated with better date picker format
    • Report Favorites page moved in left hand navigation pane down to Administration section
  • Security Updates
    • Read Only Executive role added - this role can see all that accounting managers see but cannot create, edit, or delete anything
    • Read Only Operations role added - this role can see all that restaurant managers see but cannot create, edit, or delete anything
    • Accounting Manager role can now see system Preferences setup screen (located under Administration - Preferences in top ribbon)

  • List Updates
    • AP Transactions list - Attachment column added which shows yes or no if that transaction has an attachment and is clickable to open the first attachment on that transaction without having to open the transaction
    • Item list - Active column added
    • Transaction Details list - Company (vendor/customer) column added
    • User list - Full Name column added
  • Formatting Updates - various formatting updates made across the application to facilitate ease of use, take better advantage of screen space on smaller devices, and provide greater consistency across different screens.
